2002-2003 has been a year of consolidation for ClubMac. We still have a problem attracting new members but the economies made in our cost structure have allowed us to contend with the realities of the breadth of appeal of a user-group in the third decade of widespread personal computer use.
We have had our first full year of publishing Macinations electronically and we have moved our electronic services from a Telefinder based BBS to a HTML based Website. The latter has not been without its problems or critics but it has reduced costs and it deals with the non-development of Telefinder. The net result is a stable financial position-even a small profit.
The operation of the Club continues to rely upon the voluntary contribution of a small group of members. The committee, the Sysop, the magazine editor and contributors, the meeting staff and our venue providors.
On behalf of ClubMac, I pay tribute to all these contributors and record our thanks to all our Club Meeting presenters.
I should close with an appeal to members to share the load by standing for a committee position. It's your club.
