The Mac does a Runner

One strange thing that you notice when people talk about how much better Windoze is than the MacOS is that Windoze contains a "Run..." command (a throwback to the days when MS-DOS dominated the PC market).

You might feel that this command (available either under the "File" menu in Windoze 3.x or in the "Start" menu in Windoze 95) is one of the absolute worst user-interface elements of any operating system that you have ever seen. Elegance and ease of use are definitely not terms to use to describe this command. However, many Windoze users seem to feel that without this command, an operating system is worthless.

The Mac doesn't need to be a loser in the race to obscurity and unease of use, now we have MacRun!

MacRun adds a "Run..." command to your Apple Menu which will allow you to launch applications, open folders or open documents just by typing their pathname.

MacRun also has features such as a history list, which allows you to easily launch recently launched items, customizable menus that allow you to easily launch your favorite applications and documents by simply choosing from a pop-up menu, and the ability to open World Wide Web and FTP sites right from your desktop. MacRun offers the following features:

Yes, there are easier ways to do some of what MacRun can do, but that really isn't the point. With MacRun, you can laugh at your PC-loving friends and point out the MacOS's superior "Run" command!

Sure, Windows had it first, but the MacOS does it better!
